Still Life Painting | Year 5-6 Showcase

Last term, our Year 5-6 students explored the art of still life painting.

We began with a series of mini sketches to study bottle shapes and understand light, form, and composition. From these controlled drawings, students gradually loosened up with pencil, pen and ink doodles, and watercolour studies to experiment with different styles and materials.

Using insights from their preliminary studies, each student composed a distinctive still life piece that balanced observation with personal expression.

Here’s a glimpse of some of our student works, along with a short video showcasing the full process at Cherry Tree Art Studio.

From early sketches to the final brushstrokes, our students explored the full painting process - planning, experimenting, and creating works that are each unique and full of personality.

Discover more projects and updates in our News & Gallery pages.

Have a lovely week!
