FAQs

Our classes are designed for students who can sit and focus for 1 to 1.5 hours, follow basic instructions and feel comfortable in a small group without a parent present. If leaving causes your child a lot of distress, it may be a sign they are not quite ready for independent classes.
A free* trial lesson is available for new students to experience the class environment and for us to assess if they are suited to the class duration and group setting.
-
Not necessarily. For the trial lesson, all materials are provided. If your child continues, you can bring the recommended materials from our supply list. Starter kits are available for purchase in the studio for convenience.
-
Yes. Our activities are designed so that all students, including complete beginners, can participate and successfully complete the tasks. Students work at their own pace and within their current ability level, with guidance to help them improve.
For newer students, their work may seem less detailed at first, but over time they will build confidence, develop techniques and learn to refine their ideas. Each class supports both beginners and more experienced students so everyone can grow at their own speed.
-
We encourage students to work independently in class. Parents are welcome to drop their child off and return at the end of the lesson. This helps students focus and build confidence in a group setting.
-
If your child is unable to attend a class, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance to be eligible for a makeup lesson. We will do our best to arrange a suitable makeup class within the same term, subject to availability.
Each student is allowed a maximum of two makeup lessons per term. If the available options do not fit your schedule, it will be considered a missed class. Please note that no credits or refunds will be issued for missed lessons. For full details, please see our Terms of Service.

Term-based classes are designed to build skills gradually, with projects that involve more thought, planning and exposure to a variety of age-appropriate materials. Over time, students develop techniques, creative thinking and a deeper understanding of how different mediums can be used together.
Holiday sessions are one-off workshops that are more about the experience than technical challenge. Materials are carefully curated so that everyone can complete a finished piece within the session, making them accessible and enjoyable for all skill levels, including complete beginners. These workshops focus on creating something fun and memorable in a relaxed setting.
-
Our term-based classes have a maximum of 12 students, with most groups sitting between 6 and 10.
High school classes are capped at 10 students, and senior high school classes have a smaller maximum of 8 to allow for more individual guidance.
Holiday sessions may have up to 15 students per group, depending on the activity.

We recommend comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting messy, or a paint smock. Closed-toe shoes are preferred for safety. If your child comes in their school uniform, please note that the studio is not responsible for any paint or marks that cannot be removed. Parents should provide a paint smock for painting classes. A small number of spare smocks are available for primary-aged students if needed.
-
All food must be eaten outside the studio. Bottled drinks with secure lids are allowed in class. For primary school students, we highly recommend having a snack before arriving to help them stay energised and focused. Children who arrive tired or hungry often find it harder to concentrate and enjoy the class.

We offer a $20 early bird discount for students who finalise and pay their enrolment for the upcoming term before the end of the current term.
For example, if Term 2 enrolment is finalised before the end of Term 1, $20 will be deducted from your Term 2 fees. We do not currently offer sibling discounts.
Cherry Tree Art Studio is a registered Creative Kids provider, so families are welcome to redeem the $50 NSW Government rebate toward their fees.
