Klimt-Inspired Owl Painting Showcase

Our Upper Primary students have recently completed a Klimt inspired owl project, blending their owl studies with Gustav Klimt’s expressive patterns and rich decorative style.

We began with coloured sketches to understand the owl’s structure through stylised drawing. Students then explored different postures and personalities before designing their own compositions for the final acrylic painting.

Our process, from start to finish! Each student created a unique scene featuring an owl (or its family) surrounded by abstract floral patterns and decorative motifs. The artworks combine the natural figure of the owl with Klimt-inspired ornamentation, resulting in pieces that are both playful and richly detailed.

With the year winding down, it has been such a joy seeing these artworks head home. We hope you enjoy the video and gallery and we look forward to the beautiful pieces the students will create as we wrap up the term.

Have a wonderful weekend!
